At the helm of Butter is owner and captain, Donald Baker II. Don, or “Donny B”, grew up a boatyard kid on the North Shore of Long Island in the waterfront town of Stony Brook. His father owned and operated Stony Brook Boat & Motor, and later designed and manufactured small boats for many years. Don owned his first boat at the age of twelve and has owned one ever since. He’s been piloting the waters of the New England coast for forty-two years, the last eight of which have been on Lake Champlain. It’s Captain Don’s promise that all who spend time on Butter will have an experience unlike any other–always in a safe, fun atmosphere.
Don holds an active Captain’s License Credential by the United States Coast Guard. When not navigating the waters of Lake Champlain, Don spends time with his three teenage children. He holds an MBA and is the CEO and Founder of Vermont Laser Services.
